Initial situation

In 2006, HOTSPLOTS was among approximately 100 providers offering access and billing systems for wireless internet usage. The company catered to private individuals, neighbourhood initiatives, and the hotel and catering industry. Despite the rapid growth of the market, Hotsplots GmbH struggled to capitalise on it, even though they offered a superior solution compared to the market leader, Deutsche Telekom.

Task

Relaunch the brand, and develop and implement a sales-oriented communication strategy.

Implementation/Results

The first step was to shift the company’s focus from private customers to business customers. We then modernised the entire brand image. All the necessary measures and materials – ranging from brand workshops, corporate identity and corporate design development, and logo and website relaunches, through to product literature and presentations, as well as employee surveys, advertising, direct marketing and PR – were developed and implemented by united communications.

To attract partners, we worked with the managing directors to develop a strategy for recruiting partner companies across the country. In 2017, the company website was relaunched once again. Bereits im Jahr 2020 hatte HOTSPLOTS etwa 17.000 Kunden mit teilweise bis zu 1.000 Zugangspunkten.

In January 2024, HOTSPLOTS was acquired by the French company Wifirst.
