Initial situation

Leverage Edu is an international education group that operates across a range of markets and brands. When we joined as WordPress consultants, one of their divisions was running six separate WordPress websites — each managing thousands of articles — and was preparing to bring them together into a single multisite network.

Task

We designed and carried out a migration from six standalone WordPress installations to a multisite network made up of six independent properties, all without any interruption to the editorial teams’ work during the transition. Going forward, we took ownership of the entire infrastructure layer: hosting architecture, content delivery network (CDN) configuration, caching strategy, plugin and theme decisions, the update pipeline, and incident response. We also build and maintain the tools that content teams across the network rely on, and we run the platform so the internal team can stay focused on content and new features.

Implementation/Results

The six standalone WordPress websites were merged into a single multisite network spanning multiple markets and brands. The migration was completed with no content lost and no downtime for the editorial teams, along with broader improvements to the infrastructure. We coordinate uptime monitoring, incident response, and performance alerting across the whole network. This WordPress support engagement has been ongoing since 2024.
