Initial situation

ViewSonic was founded in California in 1987. The company started out selling monitors for business and private customers and became one of the leading display brands in the USA just a few years after its founding. Led by James Chu, the company expanded its product range in the 1990s and 2000s to include innovative visual solutions such as projectors, tablet PCs, notebooks, smartphones, digital signage, etc.

ViewSonic ventured into the European market in 1995.

Task

The London-based agency Green Light Communications was awarded the contract to manage ViewSonic’s market entry in Europe and provide communications support. While the English agency initially took care of the framework and the UK market, our task was to make ViewSonic well known and successful in DACH.

Implementation/Results

ViewSonic brought many advanced and high-quality new products to Europe. We conducted many editorial tours and personal discussions with journalists at important trade fairs. In a very short time, we succeeded in making ViewSonic not only a well-known but also a recognised brand.

ViewSonic Europe made us the lead agency for EMEA after Green Light Communications left, and we worked for ViewSonic for a total of 15 years, which shows the value they saw in our work.
